Esther Sampedro was born and raised in Spain.  At the age of 14 she migrated with her parents and three siblings to the United States in 1979. Growing-up in a multicultural environment and vibrant ecosystem she learned, early in life, about the unique relationship and fragile balance between humans, animals, plants and our planet. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Florida, she went on to experience the real world.

Esther's career includes work as a photojournalist for Discovery.com, The New York Times, Newsweek en Español, The Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald, St. Petersburg Times, US Air Force and other publications. She worked in the Dominican Republic for El Listín Diario and Ultima Hora.  Later, she earned her position as the Photo Editor for Editorial Doble AA , a publishing company that oversees the production of different magazines ranging from news, sports, economy and fashion.

In 1998 she became an independent video producer, “I wanted to bring into video the magic of picture stories. I wanted the characters not only to “be” a story but to voice their opinion and life experiences.” She worked for WLRN Public Radio and Television where she use her extensive experience in news and documentary production, photography design, editing, script development, research, reporting and interviewing.

Today she juggles from her fulltime job as a mom and a wife and her new passion in life. “Kids Love Mother Earth is about the future of my children and the children of the world. They need to know and understand the reasons why Mother Earth is ill and how she can become well again. Their commitment and voices alone will be powerful enough to transform the opinions of the adults, the powerful and the commanders and chiefs of nations. To accomplish the smallest change is to make a world of difference for the future of the planet and its children.”
